At long last, Tides and Tomes has been released ! I’m so excited to be able to share the conclusion to my Etchings and Embers series with you! This was a long time coming, I know, but I hope fans of Etchings and Embers and Jeff Wheeler’s Muirwood series are still eager to go along with Mairryn, Theobald, and Jouvent on this last, twisting and turning, leg of their journey.
On a sadder note, some of you may or may not know that Amazon’s Kindle Worlds imprint will no longer exist after July 16. I’m not sure what will happen to the Etchings and Embers series after that, as the announcement was very sudden (May 16). I know that Jeff Wheeler is exploring the legal options, as I’m sure all the licensors of the Kindle Worlds are. I gather that the process of moving these books to a different platform may not be a straightforward one. So the future for these books is, unfortunately, uncertain. This is troubling to me, as you can imagine, since I devoted virtually every free moment of the last year and more to Tides and Tomes. More than that, the Etchings and Embers duology is an important and large part of my current portfolio of work, a part that I am proud of and that is close to my heart.
So if you’re a fan, please get your copy soon because it may be a limited time offering. This book was the most difficult of all my books to write so far since it spans a period of ten years and I wanted to be very careful to stay true to Jeff Wheeler’s timelines, both in the Legends of Muirwood and the Covenant of Muirwood, which means I did painstaking research of all six books in the canon. But I believe the story that grew out of the effort was well worth it. I love these characters, mine as well as Jeff Wheeler’s, and I hope you’ll enjoy seeing their story play out!
